About The Meeting Point |
The Meeting Point is a collaboration of independent body workers and mental health practitioners. We create an ever evolving multi-dimensional resource for growth and healing. We offer individual, couples, relationship, group and family services. We also offer workshops and consultation. We offer therapy that works to create opportunities where one can explore their sense of self and interpersonal world, fostering possibilities of hope and healing. We support growth and healing through connection and relationship with an awareness of the culture, community, and social consciousness contexts that inform individual experience.
Some of our areas of specialty include working with people who have experienced trauma, disability, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, life transition, depression, anxiety, We also provide services specific to the needs of gay, lesbian, transgender people and address the needs of alternative relationship and family structures. The Meeting Point additionally offers services alert to the distinct needs and strengths of every person. We also offer trainings and workshops to perpetuate insight into and cultivate opportunities for change.
In addition to psychotherapy services we offer body work, therapeutic and relaxation massage that combines elements of traditional swedish, myofascial release, muscular therapy, deep tissue, and cranio-sacral therapy. We offer infant massage, and education about self-care. Our body work is trauma and gender identity informed. |

The Meeting Point's Featured Artist |
 |
Ayisha Knight-Shaw is a local Deaf multimedia artist who loves to focus on hands, eyes, facial expressions, and quirky subjects not typically seen in mainstream media. From the beaches of California and the most pierced man in Cuba, to the mountains of Oaxaca and the Million Man March in DC, she loves to share her visions of the world.
The daughter of a White Jewish mother and Black Cherokee father, she was raised by her mother in an ethnically diverse community of poets, painters, sculptors, photographers and storytellers who taught her that creating and sharing art is as much a political act as a thing of beauty.
Past solo and shared exhibits have been showcased at Very Special Arts Boston, Club Passim, Boston Public Library, Cambridge Center for Adult Education, Salem Access TV, Espresso Royale Café, Two Dogs Working, Galant Gallery, North Shore Career Center, Deaf Expo, Disability Expo, Maine Deaf Expo, and Dorian’s in Provincetown.
